In December 2020 two new PAS 79 (79-1 & 79-2) documents were published replacing the previous PAS 79:2012. The PAS 79-2 document has since been withdrawn by the BSI, however, it is expected to be reintroduced in the none too distant future.
PAS 79-1 provides guidance and a fire risk assessment template for premises other than housing whilst PAS 79-2 is specific to housing.
The scope of the new PAS 79-2 covers blocks of flats, sheltered housing, extra care housing, supported housing and certain houses in multiple occupation.
In conjunction with the recent publication of the new PAS 79-2 document we will be releasing a new Lifespan FRA template that encompasses the recommendations and corresponding examples of undertaking fire risk assessments of the new Code of Practice to ensure that our customers are collecting and recording appropriate fire risk assessment information.
OUR NEW FRA TEMPLATE WILL GO LIVE IN THE FIRST WEEK OF JULY. Please watch this space for more information and feel free to give the team a call if you have any queries.
